Personal Values and Ethical Standards In order to start this paper, I had to make sure I knew the differences between values, moral and ethics. It’s believed that values are what we learn from childhood from parents and surrounding influences of adults involved in the child’s life. Morals are the beliefs developed from that value system and how one should behave in any given situation. Ethics on the other hand is how someone actually behaves in the situation that may test ones morals and values, wow are you confused yet? Values are established by childhood upbringing and help mold them into citizens contributing to society. Those environments include home, school, church, neighbors, cultural backgrounds and social get together’s or†¦show more content†¦Religion had played a critical role in decision-making and values. Schoolwork helped teach and enforce hard work and commitment would pay off in good grades and various principle awards. Girl scouts hel ped build outgoingness and leadership. Girl scouts also allowed her to be a team player and work as an individual collectively. As graduation occurred she had no idea the appreciation for childlike activities was diminished by exploration into drinking and adult like behaviors, Eventually She learned that children bring emotional maturity and a spouse brings negotiation and compromising abilities no matter the age it occurs. A blessing in disguise, her home and new family helped to begin to balance her inner and outer experiences, and to find order in life. She still has many questions regarding this supposed mission she is on. It can become apparent as each individual grows older that cleaning up, clearing up, and moving on with refined moral and ethical behavior is the key to success in every aspect of ones live. She has learned and knows there is much more that she does not know. She feels awed and inspired by this discovery process, engaged by the thrill of the next event.
